Following two intertwining love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone – Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Mitchell’s beguiling melodies and Chavkin’s poetic imagination pit industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, dancers, and singers, Hadestown delivers a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience.

Reeve Carney, Zane Carney and Paris Carney are Bringing FAMILY CHRISTMAS to The Green Room 42 on December 22

THE GREEN ROOM 42 – the new intimate concert venue dubbed Broadway’s “off-night hotspot” by The New York Times – will present the return of Reeve Carney, Zane Carney and Paris Carney for the star siblings’ new evening “The Carney Family Christmas Extravaganza” on Sunday, December 22 at 9:30 PM. The family has been making music together their entire lives and will come together in harmony again for one night only to perform holiday favorites and their original songs, following a sold out show this past summer.

Reeve will resume his long-term residency at the club on Sunday, February 2 at 9:30 PM.

Reeve Carney, who returns to The Green Room 42 after a string of sold-out solo concerts over the last two years, is currently starring on Broadway in Hadestown, the winner of eight Tony Awards, including “Best Musical.” Reeve himself was nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award for “Outstanding Actor in a Musical” and two Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards, including “Favorite Leading Actor in a Musical.” His five-time Independent Music Award-winning album, Youth Is Wasted spotlights his distinctive original music. Reeve originated the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the record-breaking Broadway musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark. A lifelong musician, Reeve jumped at the opportunity to perform a score by U2’s Bono and The Edge-not to mention re-team with director Julie Taymor, who he’d worked with in her film, The Tempest. In 2013, however, Reeve finally hung up his Spidey suit and headed to Dublin for Showtime’s buzzed-about John Logan/Sam Mendes series, “Penny Dreadful,” in which he played reckless hedonist Dorian Gray.

Zane Carney – dubbed “the future of electric guitar” by The Huffington Post – is a singer/songwriter and Grammy Award-nominated guitarist, most known for his work with John Mayer, Avril Lavigne, Broadway’s Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark, and LA-based Rock band Carney. Zane has worked with icons including Bono and Edge of U2, David Foster, Justin Timberlake, and Don Was and has shared the stage with Keith Urban, Steven Tyler, Jackson Browne, Nicole Scherzinger, Stevie Wonder and many, many more. In 2013 John Mayer handpicked Zane, sans audition, to play guitar in his touring band and on his album Paradise Valley. Zane has headlined shows in Japan, Australia, Korea, Mexico, Europe, and many cities across the USA including his hometowns of NYC and LA, and he is primed to make his debut in Brazil this December. This notoriety has opened many new doors, including co-writing on Avril Lavigne’s 2018 release and opening for Jonny Lang. Evan + Zane is his new band formed with actor/singer Evan Rachel Wood (“Westworld”). Zane’s newest release, 2018’s Zane Carney: Live In Tokyo // The Bootlegs, is now streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play.

Paris Carney is an artist and songwriter born and raised in New York City and currently living in Los Angeles. She has sung background vocals with pop acts like Jonas Brothers and Hailee Steinfeld. Now she focusing on writing songs for other artists, having penned hits for the likes of Adam Lambert, Bea Miller and other Top 40 artists. In addition, her artist moniker “O’Neil Hudson” has racked up millions of streams, citing Jeff Buckley and Fiona Apple as her biggest influences.

The Carneys becoming performers was all but a foregone conclusion: almost everybody in their family works in the arts. Their great-uncle was actor Art Carney. Their jewelry designer mother has a degree from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and their father wrote jingles.

The Carneys will perform at The Green Room 42 (570 Tenth Avenue at 42nd Street, on the 4th Floor of Yotel) on Sunday, December 22 at 9:30 PM. The cover charge ranges from $30-$75. There is no food and drink minimum. For tickets, please visit www.TheGreenRoom42.com.

Hadestown marks the first time in over a decade that a woman has been the solo author of a musical: writing the music, lyrics, and book, and is the fourth time in Broadway history a woman has accomplished this creative feat. The show originated as Mitchell’s indie theater project that toured Vermont which she then turned into an acclaimed album. With Chavkin, her artistic collaborator, Hadestown has been transformed into a genre-defying new musical that blends modern American folk music with New Orleans-inspired jazz to reimagine a sweeping ancient tale.

The creative team for Broadway features Tony Award winner Rachel Hauck (set design); four-time Tony Award nominee Michael Krass (costume design); two-time Tony Award winner Bradley King (lighting design); Tony Award winners Nevin Steinberg and Jessica Paz (sound design); Chita Rivera Award winner and three-time Bessie Award winner David Neumann (choreography); Liam Robinson (music direction and vocal arrangements); Tony Award winners Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose (arrangements and orchestrations); Ken Cerniglia (dramaturgy); and Stewart/Whitley (casting).

The Original Broadway Cast Recording of Hadestown from Sing It Again Records was released digitally this summer, and topped Billboard’s Broadway Cast Recording chart, and debuted at #8 on the Top Album chart. To date, the album has been streamed over 47 million times.

The two-disc CD set featuring a 64-page booklet was released on November 1 and the upcoming triple-vinyl edition will be available starting Friday, November 29. Both editions include complete song lyrics and never-before-seen photos of the Hadestown cast and creative team in the studio, and other exclusive content.

Hadestown electrified audiences with its 2016 world premiere at New York Theatre Workshop, which is the longest-running show in that celebrated theater’s 40-year history. The production then received its Canadian premiere at Edmonton’s Citadel Theatre in 2017 and then a 2018 sold-out engagement at the London’s National Theatre prior to Broadway. Hadestown was developed with funding from the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center and was further developed by The Ground Floor at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Hadestown was co-conceived by Ben t. Matchstick.
