July 31: Little Island Presents Morgan James: EVERYBODY SAYS DON’T Featuring Pearl Sun,Tamika Lawrence, Ellyn Marie Marsh, and Orfeh at The Glade

Little Island is presenting Morgan James: EVERYBODY SAYS DON’T at The Glade on Sunday, July 31 at 6:30pm. The event was free. Little Island is located at Pier55 in Hudson River Park, West 13th Street, New York NY 10014

Morgan James and some of her favorite gal pals respond vocally to: “…but that’s a guy’s song!”

Broadway performer and recording artist, Morgan James reunites with four of the cast members from her all-female Jesus Christ Superstar studio cast recording: Tamika Lawrence (Caroline or Change), Ellyn Marie Marsh (The Bedwetter), Orfeh (Pretty Woman), and Pearl Sun (Come From Away) to interpret lyrics assigned to other male characters in musicals, and make a compelling case for nontraditional casting as it relates to gender. The concert is directed by Richard Amelius, with musical direction by Geraldine Anello. The band includes Anello on keys, Paul Adamy on bass, and Sarah Gooch on drums.

The event will include a post-show Q&A to discuss these choices, and the album that started it.
