This month, BAC has been hosting an AAPI Month of Action, using their platform to feature organizations working on the ground against the continued racist violence perpetrated against East Asian, Southeast Asian, South Asian, West Asian, Pacific Islander, Asian American and any individual of the Asian diaspora, led by AAPI staff members Emily Goes and Jess McLeod.
In the midst of grief and continued violence, they’ve seen the need to create a space centering joy, fellowship and ease for the AAPI community. On Tue, May 31 from 5pm – 7pm EST, AAPAC will join Broadway Advocacy Coalition and Ma-Yi Theater Company for a “H(AAPI) Hour Celebration” at Sour Mouse NYC, 110 Delancey Street. To mark the end of AAPI month, we’re coming together after being isolated for so long at a time of increased anxiety for the Asian community. They are also celebrating their special Tony Awards recognition.
They’ll be playing pool, ping pong, foosball and board games, as well as promoting the AAPI Transportation Fund and holding a bag and card decorating booth for Heart of Dinner. Attendees will also receive 1 drink ticket upon entrance and Sour Mouse’s delicious pizzas will be served.
COVID 19 Policy. All attendees must be vaccinated, and vaccination status will be checked upon entrance. Attendees are encouraged to take a rapid test before coming to this event.
