Oct. 25: Iconoclast Theatre Collective and David Treatman Creative Present A Rachel Klein helmed Concert of THE WORLD TO COME: THE SONGS OF FIVEBORO at The Green Room 42

The World to Come: The Songs of Fiveboro, featuring songs from the hit audio series, The World to Come (@W2CMusical), will perform live in concert on Monday, October 25th, at 9:30pm at the Green Room 42. The evening marks the world premiere live performance of music from the series which was created and recorded remotely within the confines of the quarantimes. The concert will also celebrate the release of the Season 1 finale, airing on Monday, October 4th, available on all major podcasting services. 

The evening will be directed by the series’ Showrunner, Rachel Klein (Red Roses, Green Gold; Around the World in 80 Days) with Music, Arrangements and Music Direction by Andy Peterson (Tootsie; Atomic), and Lyrics by Erik Ransom (Offie Award winner for Best Musical, GRINDR the Opera.)

The concert of selected songs will feature performances by Justin Sargent (Spiderman: Turn off the Dark; Rock of Ages), Marissa Rosen (For the Girls w/ Kristin Chenoweth), Mac award winner Tara Martinez, Em Grosland (“New Amsterdam”), Radio City’s Sandra Marante, Luis Villabon (A Chorus Line), Tsebiyah Mishael Derry (SKiNFoLK: An American Show), Jonathan Hoover (Joseph International Tour; @inappropriatepatti), Joanna Carpenter (King’s Blade”) and Erik Ransom, with musical performances by Andy Peterson, Mike Lunoe (Chicago; Audio Producer of The World to Come), Debbie Christine Tjong (Rags Parkland), Michael Ferrara (Flying Over Sunset) and Mike Rosengarten (Be More Chill). The evening will be Emceed by Remy Germinario (Buyer and Cellar; @RemyGerminario) and Kate Hoover (The Imbible).

Timed entrance tickets are available for 8:45pm, 9:00pm and 9:15pm. Concert begins at 9:30pm.

The World to Come is an epic episodic musical saga available on all major podcasting platforms. The series’ 12-episode first season was recorded and engineered entirely in isolation between June and September 2020.  This epic, serial adventure is set in a semi-dystopian future. The series blends musical styles and pop culture genres, brought to life by a cast of over 20 actors and more than a dozen creatives. The World to Come is one of the most ambitious audio-centric projects to come out of the quarantine.

Andy Peterson (Composer/Orchestrator/Music Director) is an award-winning New York based composer, musical director, arranger and orchestrator originally hailing from the Land Down Under. He holds a Bachelor of Music (Composition) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Composer credits: Razorhurst (Sydney, New Jersey), Stalker: The Musical (New York, Chicago, Sydney), Make America Safe (won the Best Original Music award at the World X Short Film Festival in Rome). David Treatman (Producer) With his first Off-Broadway credit at 19, and his first Broadway syndication at 20, David Treatman is widely heralded as one of the most successful independent producers of his generation. A Columbia University “Great Grad,” David has produced over 15 projects in 4 years on new and traditional platforms alike. Erik Ransom (Script Writer/Lyricist/Performer) is an award-winning, internationally produced writer, composer and performer. His magnum opus, GRINDR The Opera, won London’s 2019 Off West End Award for Best New Musical, and has been produced across the U.S. Other works include: Coming, Shooting Star (Ovation Award nominee) and More Than All the World, a musical retelling of Marlowe’s “Edward II”. Erik starred in and wrote songs for the feature film, “Happy Yummy Chicken” featuring Taryn Manning, and served as lead comedy writer for The Celebrity Roast of Michael Musto, presented by Rosie O’Donnell and hosted by Bruce Vilanch.

Lia Chang

Lia Chang is an actor, a multi-media content producer and co-founder of Bev’s Girl Films, making films that foster inclusion and diversity on both sides of the camera. Bev’s Girl Films’ debut short film, Hide and Seek was a top ten film in the Asian American Film Lab’s 2015 72 Hour Shootout Filmmaking Competition, and she received a Best Actress nomination. BGF collaborates with and produces multi-media content for artists, actors, designers, theatrical productions, composers, musicians and corporations. Lia has appeared in the films Wolf, New Jack City, A Kiss Before Dying, King of New York, Big Trouble in Little China, The Last Dragon, Taxman. She stars in and served as Executive Producer for the short independent films Hide and Seek, Balancing Act, Rom-Com Gone Wrong, Belongingness and When the World was Young (2021 DisOrient Film Audience Choice Award for Best Short Narrative). She is also the Executive Producer for The Cactus, The Language Lesson, The Writer and Cream and 2 Shugahs.
