Feb. 3: Symphony Space Selected Shorts: Reading the Russians with George Saunders Featuring Ann Harada, Peter Jay Fernandez, BD Wong, Becca Blackwell, Donna Lynne Champlin, Santino Fontana, Zach Grenier, Richard Masur, and Peter Mark Kendall

George Saunders has been teaching the nineteenth-century Russian short story for 20 years, and his newest book, A Swim in a Pond in the Rain, is a master class on some of his favorites. On Wednesday, February 3rd at 7:30pm, he brings his passion to Selected Shorts with a lineup of stories curated from his long history with the greats of Russian literature, including hidden gems not included in the book. With performances by Becca Blackwell (They, Themself and Schmerm), Donna Lynne Champlin (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Peter Jay Fernandez (Luke Cage), Santino Fontana (Tootsie), Zach Grenier (The Good Fight), Ann Harada (Smash), Richard Masur (Younger), Peter Mark Kendall (Strange Angel), and BD Wong (Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens).

Our greatest actors transport us through the magic of fiction, one short story at a time. Sometimes funny. Always moving. Selected Shorts connects you to the world with a rich diversity of voices from literature, film, theater, and comedy.
