Geffen Playhouse’s world premiere of Qui Nguyen’s Revenge Song: A Vampire Cowboys Creation, directed by Robert Ross Parker and starring Noshir Dalal, Beth Hawkes, Tom Myers, Margaret Odette, Amy Kim Waschke, Eugene Young and Jon Hoche, has been nominated in  four 2021 LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards categories including Featured Actress in a Musical for Amy Kim Waschke, Fight Direction for Tim Brown and Maggie MacDonald, Costume Design for Jessica Shay, and Video/Projection Design for Kaitlynns Pietras and Jason H. Thompson.

The LA Times called Amy Kim Waschke’s performance ‘vibrantly dangerous’ and applauded her ‘theatrical ferocity.’

A rousing, romping, music-filled look at the real life of Julie d’Aubigny, a queer 17th century French swordswoman and opera singer, Revenge Song is a heroine’s journey toward self-discovery and acceptance.

Amy Kim Waschke made her Geffen Playhouse debut with Revenge Song: A Vampire Cowboys Creation. She has performed with the Vampire Cowboys in The Inexplicable Redemption Of Agent GAlice In Slasherland, and Living Dead In Denmark. Amy is also a proud company member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) where she last seen as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth and the Queen of Hearts in Alice In Wonderland. Select theater credits include: Othello, Snow In MidsummerThe Winter’s Tale, Hannah And The Dread Gazebo (OSF); Water By The Spoonful (Studio Theatre); Vietgone (OSF, Seattle Rep); Edward II (Shakespeare Theatre Company); The White Snake (Old Globe, Berkeley Rep, McCarter, Goodman, Guthrie, OSF, and the Wuzhen Theater Festival in China). Film and television credits include: Law & Order: SVUEighteen SecondsThe Feminist Cooking Show (web series). Amy is a graduate of the University of Washington’s Professional Actor Training Program.

The other Featured Actress in a Musical nominees include Janaya Jones and Lana McKissack (Rockwell Musical Parodies Presents: Stephen King’s IT), Cheyenne Isabel Wells (Little Shop of Horrors), Holly Reichert and Madelyn Velasquez-Heywood (Fun Home), and Carrie Manolakos (Love Actually Live!).

Lia Chang is an actor, a multi-media content producer and co-founder of Bev’s Girl Films, making films that foster inclusion and diversity on both sides of the camera. Bev’s Girl Films’ debut short film, Hide and Seek was a top ten film in the Asian American Film Lab’s 2015 72 Hour Shootout Filmmaking Competition, and she received a Best Actress nomination. BGF collaborates with and produces multi-media content for artists, actors, designers, theatrical productions, composers, musicians and corporations. Lia has appeared in the films Wolf, New Jack City, A Kiss Before Dying, King of New York, Big Trouble in Little China, The Last Dragon, Taxman. She stars in and served as Executive Producer for the short independent films Hide and Seek, Balancing Act, Rom-Com Gone Wrong, Belongingness and When the World was Young. She is also the Executive Producer for The Cactus, The Language Lesson, The Writer and Cream and 2 Shugahs.
