EAG Partners With Leviathan Lab For The 13th Annual Barbour Playwrights Award Reading Series Featuring New Work by Cherry Lou Sy, Garrett David Kim and Ray Yamanouchi

Leviathan Lab, in collaboration with The Episcopal Actors’ Guild, is proud to present the thirteenth year of the Barbour Playwrights Award Reading Series featuring readings of new plays by emerging playwrights at Episcopal Actors Guild, 1 East 29th Street between 5th and Madison in New York, on three consecutive Mondays in March.  Each year, EAG partners with a local theatre company, collective, or playwriting program to present staged readings of three new plays, with one writer being awarded a prize of $500.

Playwrights Cherry Lou Sy (Nominee, Cherry Lane Mentor Project), Garrett David Kim (Finalist, Blue Ink Playwriting Award), and Ray Yamanouchi (Semi-Finalist, IMPACT-O’Neill National Playwrights Conference) will examine the intersection of racism and sexism across romance and desire, and the toll these crosses exact on the hearts, minds, and bodies of people of color with their new works.
